Bistek Tagalog

A Filipino version of Beef Steak, this is a sensational dish which is typically made with onions and strips of sirloin beef slowly cooked in soy sauce, and calamansi juice.
This dish is very simple but is so tasty that you'll want to come back for more.

Ingredients
  1. Beef sirloin (thinly sliced) – 1 kilo
  1. Light soy sauce – 1 cup
  2. Lemon – 1 whole (or 6 calamansi)
  3. Oyster Sauce – 2 tablespoon
  4. Onion (sliced into rings) – 1 whole
  5. Oil- 2 tablespoon
  6. Water – ½ cup
  7. Salt and Pepper
Procedure
  1. Marinate beef with ,light soy sauce, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and oyster sauce for at least an hour
  1. Heat up a pan and put some oil then fry the onion rings. Set aside.
  1. In the same pan, lightly fry the marinated beef in batches. Do not overcook the beef. Set aside or put in a serving plate.
  1. Also on the same pan, put the marinate juice and add the water.
  1. Lower the fire and simmer until the sauce has thickened. Pour the sauce on the cooked beef meat.
  1. Add the onion rings on the top. 

* Best served with plain rice.
