Bistek na Baboy (Pork Bistek)


Bistek Baboy


Another variant of Bistek Tagalog which uses pork instead of beef as the main hero of the dish. Cooking it is so easy but the return to your tastebuds are divine!

Try it and enjoy! 

Ingredients
  1. Lean Pork (sliced into pcs) about 1/2" thick - 1/2 kilo
  2. Onions (cut into rings) - 3 pcs
  3. Water - 2 cups
  4. Lemon juice - 1/2 cup
  5. Soy sauce - 1/2 cup
  6. Black Pepper (ground) - 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Cooking oil - 1/4 cup
  8. Sugar - 2 teaspoon

Procedure 
  1. Marinate pork by mixing with lemon juice and soy sauce (about 30 mins)
  2. Separate the pork and the marinate then set aside.
  3. Heat up a pan with the oil and fry the onion about 2 minutes not making the onion translucent.
  4. Set onion aside leaving the oil in the pan.
  5. Fry the pork using the same oil then add the marinade, ground pepper, and water.
  6. Simmer for 20 - 30 minutes or until the pork is tender.
  7. Serve the onions on top of the pork
  8. Enjoy!

* Best served with rice.
