Ginisang Munggo (Sautéed Mung Beans) |
Mung Beans are widely cultivated in the Philippines and Ginisang
Munggo (Sautéed Mung Beans) is one of the most famous Mung Bean dish which makes
use of the Mung Beans as the main ingredient complemented by the different
flavours of Meat and vegetables. This is a healthy dish which won't hurt your
wallet.

Ingredients
- Pork Scotch fillet (sliced into pcs) - 1/2 kilo
- Mung Beans (Munggo) - 1/4 Kilo
- Tomato (chopped) - 3 pcs
- Garlic (chopped) - 4 pcs
- Onion (sliced) - 1 whole
- Spinach or BitterMelon Leaves (Dahon ng ampalaya)
- Fish sauce or Anchovy sauce to taste
- Water on a pot - 5 cups
Procedure
- Heat up a pan with water and mung beans until the mung beans becomes soft (around 30 - 45 mins)
- Heat up a frying pan and Sauté the garlic, onion , and tomato.
- Add the pork to the sauté until the pork is golden brown
- Add Fish sauce or anchovy sauce on the sauté to taste
- Add the soften mung beans along with the water used for the mumg beans and stir for a few mins, then simmer.
- Add the spinach or BitterMelon Leaves (Dahon ng ampalaya)
- Enjoy!
* Best served with rice.
